You might think you've seen it all when it comes to fast food, but you haven't. Taco Bell is here to blow your mind once again with two new additions to their menu; the Naked Egg Taco and Firecracker Burritos, and are they something special.
On August 31, Taco Bell will launch the Naked Egg Taco, a flour-less breakfast taco for $1.99. The taco is wrapped in a fried egg 'shell' and stuffed with potatoes, cheese, and bacon or sausage. All the makings of a delicious breakfast meal. Sounds absolutely yummers.
If you aren't hyped yet, we totally understand. We'll do one better. Taco Bell in Orange Country, CA, is experimenting with a new menu item called the Firecracker Burrito. The news came from Reddit by a user named Elbore who snapped a photo of a mysterious packet labeled, "Cayenne Popping Crystals." We're guessing the popping crystals are none other than good ol' Pop Rocks.
The Firecracker Burrito comes in two flavors; Spicy and Cheesy for $1.29 each. The cheesy one is stuffed with beef, rice, nacho cheese, crunchy red strips, and wrapped in a vibrant red-colored tortilla. The spicy version has the same fillings with added chipotle sauce for that extra spicy kick.
However, the red crystals do not come pre-sprinkled. For an additional 20 cents, you can top your tortillas with popping crystals for maximum enjoyment. Your taste buds will be treated to a combination of cheesy, sweet, and spicy flavors.
According to FoodBeast, the Firecracker Burrito is now available at select Taco Bell locations in Southern California.
